Spaghetti Carbonara

I know I am usually the most organised person when it comes to food however this particular evening we had been studying late and hadn’t thought what to eat! The best thing about a carbonara, is chances are you have most of these ingredients in your kitchen anyway! Egg actually makes such a great pasta sauce and this is the most simple dinner ever.


150g Spaghetti

2 tbsp Parmesan

1 egg, whisked

Black pepper

1-2 slices of Bacon, cubed

Optional, rocket, flat leaf parsley



Cook the spaghetti to packet instructions. 

Gently fry the bacon. 

Whisk the egg in a mug and add 1 tbsp of parmesan with lots of lovely black pepper. 

Drain the spaghetti (keeping some pasta water) and put back in a pan and add the bacon to it. Pour in the egg mix with 1/2 cup pasta water and mix together thoroughly. Be careful not to let the egg scramble. Split into 2 bowls and top with some more black pepper and parmesan. Sprinkle with some flat leaf parsley if you have some ! 


Optional extra: Add some rocket to the mix.
